We are seeking a strong, hands-on Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) who thrives in a fast-paced skilled nursing environment and is passionate about leading, developing, and supporting nursing teams. This is a key leadership position that plays a vital role in supporting the Director of Nursing, ensuring regulatory compliance, and elevating the quality of care across the community.

Requirements

  • RN preferred; LVN/LPN considered with strong leadership experience
  • Current nursing license in good standing in Texas
  • Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required
  • Skilled nursing / long-term care experience strongly preferred
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of CMS regulations, survey process, and LTC standards
  • Proven ability to lead, multitask, and drive accountability in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift as needed in a clinical setting
  • Ability to respond to emergencies and provide direct resident care when necessary

Responsibilities

  • Partner with the Director of Nursing to oversee daily clinical operations
  • Provide hands-on leadership and supervision to nursing staff
  • Support and ensure compliance with CMS regulations, state survey standards, and facility policies
  • Conduct rounds to monitor resident care, documentation accuracy, and clinical outcomes
  • Assist with survey readiness and actively participate during state and federal surveys
  • Oversee staffing coordination, scheduling support, and coverage needs
  • Investigate incidents, concerns, and grievances with professionalism and urgency
  • Lead and support infection control and QAPI initiatives
  • Coach, mentor, and develop the nursing team members
  • Ensure accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Promote a positive, team-oriented culture focused on quality care and resident satisfaction
  • Lead by example with professionalism and clinical excellence
  • Build strong relationships with staff, residents, and families
  • Foster collaboration across interdisciplinary teams
  • Serve as a mentor and coach to nursing staff
  • Support a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement
