Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5+ years of progressive nonprofit accounting experience
  • Strong financial analysis and cash flow management
  • Audit oversight experience
  • Ability to present financial data clearly to diverse audiences
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal stakeholders and external partners
  • Strong customer service orientation

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including general ledger, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations
  • Prepare and present monthly financial statements and reports
  • Lead budget development, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit regulations
  • Manage audits and coordinate with external auditors
  • Supervise and mentor accounting staff
  • Strengthen internal controls and streamline financial processes
  • Monitor cash flow and financial health of the organization
  • Manage organizational cash flow forecasting in collaboration with Program Directors
  • Partner with Program Directors to assess the financial effectiveness of programs and support operational success
  • Develop and implement financial and administrative systems to support program operations
  • Respond to inquiries from the CEO, Director of Finance, and Leadership Team regarding financial results and special reporting requests
  • Participate in team meetings and cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with executive leadership
  • Acts as the Director in the absence of the Director of Finance.
