About The Position

The Assistant Director of Catering and Events joins the Catering and Events team at Grand Wailea, a Waldorf Astoria Resort in Maui. The role assists with providing leadership and direction for the hotel’s events function and helps deliver memorable guest experiences. The property is described as a 780-room resort with 100,000 square feet of banquet space and seven food and beverage outlets.

Responsibilities

• Assist in driving innovative event strategies and refining processes to deliver high-quality experiences.
• Assist in leading event operations and maintain engagement with internal stakeholders, team members, guests, and suppliers.
• Apply event-industry expertise and best practices, stay current on event trends, and represent Hilton in professional associations.
• Support the sales process and participate in client site inspections to grow event business and ensure event solutions align with Hilton standards.
• Assist with budgets, forecasting, and cost reporting, while optimizing staffing, space usage, and resource allocation.
• Support a collaborative, high-performing team by embodying Hilton’s values and fostering a guest- and team member-centric environment.
• Support talent development, career growth, and mentoring; maintain an open-door policy to foster engagement, resolve conflicts, and promote a productive work environment.
