About The Position

The Assistant Delivery Driver assists the delivery driver with safely delivering and installing furniture at customers’ homes or businesses. The role includes loading and unloading furniture, securing items for transport, assembling and installing furniture as needed, and providing excellent customer service throughout the delivery process. The assistant also supports customer communications, delivery status reporting, recordkeeping, and care of the delivery truck and equipment. The position involves working with a delivery team, interacting with customers, meeting tight schedules, following safety protocols, and may include occasional overtime and weekend work during busy periods.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Texas driver’s license.
• Excellent customer service skills and effective communication with customers.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in furniture delivery or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of furniture assembly and installation.
• Fluency in Spanish.

Responsibilities

• Assist the delivery driver in carrying out deliveries to customer locations.
• Load and unload furniture from the truck and ensure items are properly secured for transport.
• Assemble furniture as needed and ensure it is properly installed at the customer’s home or business.
• Provide customer service during deliveries, answer questions, and address customer concerns.
• Follow safety procedures and protocols to help maintain a safe work environment.
• Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures as proof of delivery.
• Assist with maintaining and cleaning the delivery truck and equipment as needed.
• Report equipment issues or maintenance needs to management in a timely manner.
• Adhere to company policies and procedures.
• Support the delivery driver in using the company phone to communicate accurate time frames and directions to customers.
• Contact the dispatch office to report delivery status, including completed and incomplete deliveries.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
