About The Position

The Assistant Delivery Driver assists the delivery driver with safely delivering and installing furniture at customers’ homes or businesses. The role includes loading and unloading furniture, securing items for transport, assembling and installing furniture as needed, and providing customer service throughout the delivery process. The assistant also supports customer communications and dispatch reporting, maintains delivery records, and helps care for the delivery truck and equipment. The position requires physical work and may involve flexible scheduling, weekends, evenings, holidays, and occasional overtime during busy periods.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Valid Texas driver’s license.
Excellent customer service skills and effective communication with customers.
Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately.
Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently.
Flexible schedule and ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.
Ability to lift and carry furniture weighing up to 100 pounds.
Ability to stand, walk, and drive for extended periods.
Ability to bend, stoop, and reach while loading and unloading furniture.
Ability to work in challenging weather conditions, including extreme temperatures.

Nice To Haves

One year of experience in furniture delivery or a related field.
Basic knowledge of furniture assembly and installation.
Fluency in Spanish.

Responsibilities

Help ensure deliveries are completed efficiently at customer locations.
Load and unload furniture and secure items properly for transport.
Assemble furniture as needed and ensure it is properly installed at the customer’s home or business.
Provide customer service, answer questions, and address customer concerns during delivery.
Follow safety procedures and protocols.
Maintain accurate delivery records and obtain customer signatures as proof of delivery.
Assist with cleaning and maintaining the delivery truck and equipment.
Report equipment issues or maintenance needs to management promptly.
Follow company policies and procedures.
Use the company phone to help communicate accurate delivery time frames and directions to customers.
Contact dispatch to report delivery status, including completed and incomplete deliveries.
Perform other duties as assigned by management.
