About The Position

The Assistant Deli Manager performs the duties and job functions of an experienced clerk and must be able to solve practical problems and interpret instructions. The Assistant Manager assumes the Department Manager’s responsibilities when the Department Manager is absent.

The position is 40 hours per week. Flexible availability, including weekends, is important in this retail environment. Applicants must be at least 21 years old.

• Internal candidates must be in good standing, not on a performance improvement plan or active discipline.

Responsibilities

• Maintain strict adherence to department and company safety guidelines.
• Assign duties to the team as needed.
• Train new teammates.
• Ensure department standards are met.
• Write orders for the day and set up a production schedule timeline.
• Provide friendly and courteous service in person and on the phone.
• Receive and stock orders.
• Understand and practice proper sanitation procedures.
• Follow inventory control procedures to ensure quality production, accuracy, and product rotation.
• Assume the Department Manager’s responsibilities in their absence.
