About The Position

The Great Falls Pre-Release Center is a non-profit Community Corrections worksite consisting of three Counseling campuses. The campuses are minimum security and residential in nature, housing closely screened and selected for program acceptance, adult male and female felon offenders during their structured transition program for re-entry into the community. The Centers also operate a Jail Alternative program for adult male/female clients and a Community Service program involving adjudicated males and females. In addition to performing all duties and functions of the Compliance Officer Supervisor in their absence and to fill in on rare occasions as a Compliance Officer, the Compliance Officer, Assistant Supervisor will work with the CO Supervisor in scheduling issues, and providing oversight during non-traditional work periods such as weekends, evenings and holidays as necessary. The individual will work closely with the Facility Services Director and management in establishing, conducting and documenting training within the Centers. The individual will be responsible for identifying and correcting training deficiencies through innovative training procedures. Along with the Compliance Officer Supervisor and the Facility Services Director, the CO Assistant Supervisor will participate in the hiring and termination of Compliance Officers. The CO Assistant Supervisor will be required to work at any one of the three facilities.

Requirements

  • High School graduate or equivalent.
  • One years’ experience in general human services programs or related field involving law enforcement or behavioral science.
  • Possess a basic understanding in the techniques of interpersonal relations.
  • Ability to understand and be sensitive to the needs of residents.
  • Ability to supervise effectively; establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Effective verbal and written communication.
  • Good organizational and time management skills.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations performed by CO’s.
  • Evaluate performance of CO’s and make recommendations to CO Supervisor for initial and remedial training as required.
  • Perform initial mandatory training of all newly assigned CO’s and perform follow-up training with assigned staff.
  • Maintain historical documentation of all training for inspection purposes.
  • Perform random and specific review of all required training records of CO’s and insure they are accomplished within required time schedules.
  • Develop and implement measurable CO testing procedures using a combination of real-life or developed scenarios.
  • Responsible for enforcement of training, establish curriculum to correct deficiencies and make recommendations to the appropriate departments including Facility Manager, Program Manager, Deputy Director, CO Supervisor and Executive Director.
  • Assign CO Staff to shift positions as necessary in the absence of the CO Supervisor.
  • Assist in selection and screening of CO’s and Part-time CO’s.
  • Provide random oversight during evenings and holiday periods throughout the three centers to include identifying training weaknesses within the scope of established Center, Federal and Department of Corrections Guidelines.
  • Assure updating of all training programs, Resident Handbooks and policy changes for CO’s.
  • Make recommendations to CO Supervisor as to the suitability of CO Staff unable to maintain established levels of training.
  • Bring to the attention of CO Supervisor, Executive Director, Deputy Director or Facility Manager, as appropriate, problem areas, grievances, recommendations or other matters pertaining to CO’s, including their inputs.
  • Maintain proficiency on U.A. procedures and retain valid certification.
  • Perform periodic written evaluations on CO staff as necessary.
  • Perform the functions of the CO Supervisor in his/her absence.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and requested.
