About The Position

CRM Rental Management, Inc. is seeking an experienced Assistant Community Manager for Mariner Towers Apartments in Buffalo, New York. The Assistant Community Manager supports the Community Manager in creating a welcoming and comfortable environment for residents while promoting the property and its benefits to prospective tenants. The role requires 1–3 years of affordable housing experience, including HUD, LIHTC, and RD, and successful completion of a five-year background check and pre-employment drug testing.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of experience in affordable housing; HUD, LIHTC, and RD experience required.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and property management software.
• Strong leasing, financial, and bookkeeping skills.
• Excellent communication and organizational abilities.
• Positive, confident demeanor and ability to interact effectively with diverse populations.
• Must be able to pass a five-year background check.
• Must complete pre-employment drug testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable HUD, DHCR, HFA, Fair Housing, ADA, OSHA, and other federal, state, and local multifamily housing regulations.
• Process move-ins, move-outs, and security deposit documentation using property management software.
• Maintain organized and accurate resident and property files, including verifications, lease renewals, and collections.
• Assist with lease renewals, prepare necessary documentation, and coordinate interim and annual recertifications.
• Support the Community Manager in creating a welcoming environment for residents and promoting the property to prospective tenants.
