This role aims to fulfill the mission of the school and its athletic program through mastery of the sport, encompassing sport-specific skills, game knowledge, personal discipline, perseverance, and positive interactions with athletes, families, and school faculty. The coach will establish and promote high Christian standards in an athletic setting, fostering a positive and professional rapport with athletes and peers. Responsibilities include coaching skills, planning practices, assisting with program operations, integrating Christian faith into all aspects of coaching, facilitating a positive atmosphere, inputting stats, participating in athlete discipline, involving parents, attending coach meetings, assisting with staff supervision, coordinating administrative support, developing game plans, evaluating the coaching program, maintaining equipment inventory, ensuring proper care of facilities, reporting vandalism, addressing issues according to biblical principles, and notifying administration of significant discipline or health concerns. The role requires the physical stamina to fulfill professional obligations, including lifting up to 50 pounds, traveling to away contests, and potential overnight stays. The coach must be flexible and adaptable to various coaching settings and schedules.
