The Assistant Football Coach assists teaching, coaching, training, performance, and recruitment of student-athletes for the varsity Football team. This role involves coaching, recruiting, office duties, and video oversight. The coach will identify and recruit academically qualified student-athletes, reinforcing their goal to graduate. They will actively support the Missouri Southern Athletics Department and operate within the guidelines of Missouri Southern State University, MIAA, and NCAA rules and regulations. The position may involve communicating with the media when the head coach is unavailable, performing athletic administration and support activities, and attending department meetings. Collaboration with medical staff, including athletic trainers, team physicians, and strength and conditioning coaches, is essential to ensure the physical and mental well-being of student-athletes. Developing and maintaining quality relationships within the community, both on and off-campus, and promoting the academic and athletic well-being of student-athletes are key responsibilities. The coach may also conduct summer camps and clinics if warranted.
