About The Position

Avondale School District is seeking an Offensive Line Football Coach for Avondale High School. This role involves instructing high school athletes in offensive line football skills and strategy, instilling moral values, pride, social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence. The coach will collaborate with the Head Coach to implement offensive schemes, teach techniques, foster student-athlete development, and promote a positive team culture. The district emphasizes personal growth, resilience, and discovery, investing in staff through professional development and a collaborative network.

Requirements

  • Experience Coaching offensive line
  • Experience or plan of building a K-12 football program
  • Knowledge/experience scheduling practices and off season workouts
  • Teach techniques and fundamentals of sport
  • Be able to demonstrate all skills necessary for the sport
  • Be knowledgeable about the rules and regulations of the sport
  • Assume the responsibility for constant care of equipment and facilities being used
  • Conduct structured practices that stay within the confines of the specified times at the Athletic Department
  • Be an example of good character and sportsmanship to team at all times
  • Works cooperatively with administrators, students, parents, and community.
  • Maintains control of storage and use of school-owned property.
  • Maintains professional competence.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction of high school athletes in the fundamental skills and strategy of offensive line football.
  • Instill moral values, pride of accomplishment, acceptable social behavior, self-discipline, and self-confidence.
  • Work closely with the Head Coach to implement offensive schemes.
  • Teach proper techniques.
  • Foster student-athlete development.
  • Promote a positive team culture.
  • Coach and develop varsity offensive linemen in all aspects of offensive line play.
  • Evaluate player performance and provide constructive feedback.
  • Analyze game film and assist with scouting opponents.
  • Develop a positive team culture focused on sportsmanship, accountability, and academic success.
  • Ensure player safety and adherence to district, league, and MHSAA policies.
  • Teach proper blocking techniques, footwork, hand placement, leverage, and position-specific skills.
  • Assist with the implementation of offensive game plans and practice plans.
  • Conduct fundraisers to provide money for team supplies and needs.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Athletic Director.
