About The Position

This position assists the Head Coach and Athletics Director in providing a positive, safe, and competitive Football program. The goal is to promote student growth, teamwork, sportsmanship, leadership, academic success, and athletic skill development. The role involves planning, organizing, and supervising aspects of the football program, providing instruction in fundamentals, skills, conditioning, and strategies, and promoting positive values among student athletes.

Requirements

  • Must successfully pass and maintain a clean criminal record.
  • Compliance with district policies and drug-free workplace requirements.
  • Knowledge of WIAA rules, district procedures, and interscholastic athletic programs.
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with students, families, staff, and administration.
  • Ability to promote positive sportsmanship, teamwork, and student leadership.

Nice To Haves

  • Bilingual English/Spanish Preferred
  • Previous coaching experience and/or experience working with secondary-aged students preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Head Coach in planning, organizing, and supervising all aspects of the Football program.
  • Provide instruction in football fundamentals, skills development, conditioning, and game strategies.
  • Assist with organizing and conducting team practices, tryouts, and competitions.
  • Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, self-discipline, and respect among student athletes.
  • Encourage student participation and academic success.
  • Communicate expectations, schedules, team rules, and program information to students and families.
  • Assist with supervision of student athletes during practices, games, travel, tournaments, and team activities.
  • Assists with maintaining accurate attendance records for practices, games, and all sport-related activities.
  • Maintain compliance with WIAA regulations, league requirements, district policies, and athletic department expectations.
  • Attend required meetings, trainings, and professional development activities including CPR/First Aid and WIAA coaching requirements.
  • Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of uniforms, equipment, locker rooms, and practice areas.
  • Promote a safe environment and implement injury prevention practices.
  • Ensure medical authorization forms, athletic clearances, and required participation documents are completed and maintained.
  • Report injuries, discipline concerns, safety concerns, or other significant incidents to the Head Coach and/or Athletics Director promptly.
  • Support off-season conditioning, camps, clinics, and summer program activities as directed.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and serve as a positive role model for students.
  • Maintains regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding student and staff information.
  • Build positive relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.
  • Promote equity, inclusion, and positive behavior aligned with district expectations.
  • Maintain accurate records and submit required reports and documentation in a timely manner.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Head Coach, Athletics Director, or building administration.

Benefits

  • Compensation shall comply with applicable wage and hour laws.
  • Classified employees working extracurricular assignments shall be compensated at an hourly rate no less than the applicable Washington State minimum wage.
  • Hours worked in excess of forty (40) hours in a workweek, including combined district employment and extracurricular assignments, shall be compensated at the applicable overtime rate in accordance with federal and state law, including 29 CFR 778.419.
  • As determined by the Board of Directors, district supplemental schedules, negotiated agreements, and applicable wage and hour laws.
