About The Position

Navitas Healthcare, LLC is seeking a dynamic and experienced Assistant Chief Nursing Officer (ACNO) to support executive nursing leadership within a high-acuity healthcare environment. This role partners closely with the Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) to drive strategic initiatives, oversee clinical operations, and ensure the delivery of exceptional, patient-centered care. The ACNO plays a critical leadership role across multiple patient care areas, focusing on quality outcomes, operational excellence, staff engagement, and continuous improvement. This position offers strong visibility and a clear pathway for future advancement into senior executive nursing leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Required
  • Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) – Required
  • Active Registered Nurse (RN) License (or Compact License, as applicable)
  • Minimum 5+ years of nursing leadership/supervisory experience
  • Minimum 5+ years of Behavioral Health leadership experience in an acute care or patient care setting

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and implementation of nursing policies aligned with regulatory and professional standards
  • Conduct leadership rounding to enhance communication with patients, families, and care teams
  • Lead and support initiatives to improve clinical quality, safety, and patient outcomes
  • Ensure timely resolution of patient concerns, complaints, and incident reports
  • Identify operational gaps and implement sustainable improvement strategies
  • Promote a culture centered on patient satisfaction and compassionate care
  • Lead service recovery efforts and drive patient engagement initiatives
  • Support retention strategies by fostering a positive and professional practice environment
  • Encourage evidence-based practice and participation in clinical research
  • Demonstrate ethical leadership and professionalism
  • Foster a culture of accountability, engagement, and shared governance
  • Support staff development through mentorship, education, and training programs
  • Collaborate with clinical educators to ensure effective onboarding and competency development
  • Build strong interdisciplinary partnerships across departments
  • Engage with physicians and care teams to enhance clinical outcomes
  • Participate in academic partnerships and student preceptorship programs as needed
  • Assist in the development and oversight of nursing budgets
  • Optimize staffing models to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality care delivery
  • Identify cost-containment opportunities while maintaining care standards
  • Monitor financial performance and resource utilization
