About The Position
The Assistant Chief Nursing Officer directs nursing service activities for the assigned hospital and helps ensure the safety of its nursing units. The role makes recommendations regarding staff-to-patient ratios, maintains a system for providing adequate staff and appropriate nursing care, serves as a liaison between staff and administration, promotes staff productivity, and develops and implements nursing-service policies and procedures that comply with PAM Health policies and accreditation standards.
Requirements
- Current RN licensure in good standing in the state where the hospital is located.
- At least five years of clinical nursing experience.
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Bachelor's degree preferred.
- Three years of nursing management experience preferred.
- Certification in a specified field preferred, such as CNE, CRRN, CCRN, or PCCN.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the safety of the nursing unit(s) and hospital.
- Direct nursing service activities for the assigned hospital.
- Make recommendations for staff-to-patient ratios.
- Maintain a system to determine and provide adequate staffing for appropriate nursing care.
- Serve as a liaison between staff and administration.
- Promote staff productivity.
- Develop and implement nursing-service policies and procedures in compliance with PAM Health policies and accreditation standards.
