About The Position
Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to join its Engineering Team. The property is a Forbes 5-Star, AAA 5-Diamond hotel with 170 rooms, 6,300 square feet of banquet space, and four food and beverage outlets. The role supports the Director in overseeing property safety and functionality while helping deliver memorable guest experiences. The Assistant Chief Engineer partners in leading facility operations and compliance, oversees maintenance and repairs, supports capital projects and property rehabilitations, ensures work orders are fulfilled and documented, communicates with government officials about permits and inspections, and helps build a high-performing team. This position reports to the Director of Property Operations.
Responsibilities
- Assist in directing the functionality, safety, and regulatory compliance of buildings, mechanical systems, electrical systems, HVAC, life safety systems, and grounds.
- Perform facility inspections and supervise construction, installation, maintenance, and repairs of electrical, mechanical, and architectural systems.
- Assist in directing capital projects and property rehabilitations, including scheduling, budgeting, contractor bidding, and licensing and permitting, while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Ensure routine maintenance and repairs are assigned, verified, and documented in the property maintenance management system.
- Communicate with government officials to maintain permits, coordinate inspections, and uphold safety and code standards.
- Drive team engagement and retention through performance management, professional development, and recognition programs.
