About The Position

Davidson’s, a leader in firearms distribution, is seeking dynamic individuals to serve as Assistant Buyers in their Merchandising Department. This role involves not only purchasing products but also promoting them internally and externally. The Assistant Buyer will collaborate with sales and marketing on advertising campaigns, promotions, events, and product training. A key aspect of the role is serving as a liaison between Davidson’s and its suppliers, focusing on negotiating favorable payment, pricing, and delivery terms.

Requirements

A Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or a related Business Degree.
Previous experience in a buying or procurement role in the outdoor/sporting goods industries.
A strong knowledge of firearms and related accessories.
Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent organizational abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with inventory management software is advantageous.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to build and maintain effective relationships with suppliers and internal teams.
Ability to handle challenges and negotiate effectively.

Responsibilities

Assist in selecting and purchasing products under the direction of management.
Communicate with vendors to negotiate prices, terms, and delivery schedules.
Address issues related to orders or deliveries.
Assist in the preparation for trade shows and events.
Conduct market research to identify trends, evaluate supplier performance, and stay informed about market changes.
Monitor inventory levels and collaborate on timely reordering and stock replenishment.
Maintain and analyze purchasing data to inform buying decisions.
Prepare purchase orders, process invoices, and maintain accurate transaction records.
