About The Position

Under the direction of the Branch Manager, the Assistant Branch Manager helps oversee branch operations to ensure customer needs and sales goals are met in accordance with bank requirements and policies. The role includes managing and coaching Universal Bankers, supporting customer transactions and inquiries, maintaining branch security and compliance, and helping ensure effective staffing and courteous customer service. The position pays $30.00 to $34.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Two to three years of retail banking experience, including knowledge of banking products and services.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Strong customer service skills and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to deal with customers tactfully and diplomatically.
• Ability to quickly learn and properly use various software programs.
• Ability to multitask and balance multiple priorities.

Nice To Haves

• Supervisory experience is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the Universal Banker training program, ensure staff complete appropriate training, review their progress, and coach and encourage participation in the sales program.
• Open and close the branch and assume responsibility for the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence.
• Process, review, and complete transactions such as opening accounts and safe deposit boxes, maintaining supporting records, stop payments, CD rate exceptions, wire transfers, treasurer’s checks, debit card applications, and customer account updates.
• Research and resolve customer inquiries and problems, following through or referring them as appropriate.
• Conduct monthly audits of cash drawers, the vault, ATM, recyclers, and other items; test alarms; maintain branch security; and maintain system access for branch staff.
• Follow applicable compliance regulations, including CTR, Truth in Savings, Regulation CC, and EFT requirements.
• Cross-sell and refer bank products and services, including Wealth Management, Trust & Investments, Mortgages, Commercial, Bluestone Bank Partners, Merchant Service, Payroll, and Credit Cards.
• Assist on the transaction line when needed while meeting all standards and expectations.
• Lead and participate in providing prompt and courteous customer service.
• Schedule branch employees while ensuring appropriate coverage.
• Assume additional responsibilities as requested.
