About The Position

Temperature Equipment Corporation/National Excelsior Company (TEC/NEC), an HVAC distributor with over 80 years of experience, is seeking an Assistant Branch Manager. The role provides operational coverage for TEC/NEC stores within an assigned area, traveling to locations within a 40-mile radius to assist or substitute for managers and associates as needed. When covering as a manager, the Assistant Branch Manager oversees daily store operations and manages sales, inventory, and reference materials and tools. The role also trains, supervises, and motivates counter and warehouse associates and ensures adherence to company policies and guidelines. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, with rotating Saturdays. The shift is based on business needs. Pay is $24–$26 per hour, plus based on experience. Physical demands include lifting and loading or unloading items up to 50 pounds, climbing a ladder up to 15 feet while carrying up to 50 pounds, and standing for periods of up to eight hours.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Two years of HVAC experience, either in the field or behind a counter.
Reliable transportation and a clean driving record.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
Exceptional customer service skills and ability to communicate effectively with customers and employees at all levels.
Analytical mindset and strong math skills.
Effective problem-solving skills.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to lift 50 pounds and load or unload trucks.
Ability to climb up and down a ladder as high as 15 feet while carrying up to 50 pounds.
Ability to stand for up to eight hours at a time.

Responsibilities

Coordinate operations coverage for stores in the assigned area.
Travel to stores within the assigned area to assist when necessary.
Oversee daily store operations when substituting as a manager.
Train, supervise, and motivate counter and warehouse associates.
Manage sales, inventory, and reference materials and tools in the manager’s absence.
Ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines.
Perform other duties as assigned.
