About The Position

The Assistant Branch Manager performs a range of branch duties, including teller functions, helping reconcile errors or discrepancies, opening deposit accounts, cross-selling bank products, and handling customer inquiries and issues. The position works relatively independently under the general supervision of the Branch Manager. The role supports a strong customer-focused and sales-oriented branch culture and requires knowledge of bank products, particularly DDA, consumer online banking, and mobile banking products and services. The Assistant Branch Manager assumes the Branch Manager’s duties when the manager is absent.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age.
High school diploma or GED equivalent.
One year of banking experience.

Nice To Haves

College or technical degree.
Three years of cash-handling experience.
Previous supervisory experience.

Responsibilities

Provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers and help instill and maintain a customer-focused, sales-oriented branch culture.
Maintain knowledge of bank products, with emphasis on DDA, consumer online banking, and mobile banking products and services.
Work and balance a teller drawer.
Anticipate cash demand and order cash for the branch.
Complete day-to-day processes and procedures for the vault, ATM, coin machine, recycler, and debit card machine.
Train new employees on teller-function policies and procedures.
Open DDA and other deposit accounts for bank customers when necessary.
Maintain proper retention procedures for teller documents and logs.
Help prepare the branch for quarterly audits by knowing and ensuring compliance with procedures.
Assist the Branch Manager with monthly audits of the location.
Assume the Branch Manager’s duties in their absence.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Assist with reconciling errors or discrepancies, cross-selling bank products, and handling customer inquiries and issues.
