About The Position

The Assistant Bakery Manager supports the Bakery Manager in leading all aspects of Bakery Department operations, including production, merchandising, customer service, food safety, inventory management, and associate development. This position helps ensure the department consistently delivers fresh, high-quality bakery products while achieving sales, profit, labor, and customer service goals. Requirements

• Supports the Bakery Manager in leading all aspects of Bakery Department operations, including production, merchandising, customer service, food safety, inventory management, and associate development.
• Helps ensure the department consistently delivers fresh, high-quality bakery products while achieving sales, profit, labor, and customer service goals.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Bakery Manager in overseeing the daily operations of the Bakery Department.
• Provide leadership, direction, and coaching to bakery associates.
• Assume department leadership responsibilities in the absence of the Bakery Manager.
• Assist with scheduling, labor planning, and workload distribution.
• Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and customer service excellence.
• Ensure bakery products are produced, packaged, and displayed according to company standards.
• Monitor product freshness, quality, and presentation throughout the department.
• Assist with production planning to ensure adequate inventory and product availability.
• Support special orders, custom cake orders, and seasonal bakery programs.
• Ensure adherence to established recipes, procedures, and production standards.
• Maintain attractive bakery displays that drive sales and enhance the shopping experience.
• Execute company merchandising programs and promotional events.
• Ensure accurate pricing, product labeling, and signage.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment activities.
• Identify opportunities to increase sales through merchandising and product placement.
• Deliver exceptional customer service and promote a customer-first culture.
• Assist customers with product recommendations, special orders, and bakery inquiries.
• Resolve customer concerns professionally and efficiently.
• Build customer loyalty through product knowledge and engagement.
• Support suggestive selling and promotional initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with all food safety, sanitation, and health department regulations.
• Monitor proper food handling, storage, packaging, and labeling procedures.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Ensure associates follow all company policies and operational procedures.
• Support food safety audits and corrective action initiatives.
• Assist with ordering, receiving, and inventory management.
• Monitor shrink and implement waste reduction strategies.
• Support achievement of department sales, labor, and profitability goals.
• Participate in inventory counts and operational reviews.
• Assist with controlling department expenses and maximizing efficiency.
