Floating Assistant Bakery Manager
About The Position
The Floating Assistant Bakery Manager provides operational coverage across Price Chopper/Market 32 locations in Cicero, Erie Boulevard, and Wester Lights as business needs require. The role delivers fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service and assists the Bakery Manager with day-to-day department operations, merchandising, sanitation, and training. The position supports bakery product preparation, baking, merchandising, and presentation; helps maintain product availability, quality, and variety; and oversees department operations when the Bakery Manager is absent. It also supports associate training, inventory and financial processes, special orders, safety, sanitation, and shrink control.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and support others, with strong follow-through in achieving desired results and objectives.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Six to twelve months of related experience.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Basic computer proficiency.
Responsibilities
- Provide fast, friendly, helpful, and efficient customer service while following company 5S efficiency standards.
- Maintain a neat, clean, and organized workstation in accordance with 5S standards.
- Assist with bakery operations, including product preparation, baking, merchandising, and final presentation of bakery products.
- Oversee department operations in the absence of the Bakery Manager.
- Maintain customer satisfaction by supporting product availability, quality, service, sanitary conditions, product presentation, and appropriate variety.
- Comply with corporate and state sanitation regulations.
- Manage and fulfill customer special orders accurately and on time.
- Assist with training and developing bakery associates.
- Follow company safety and training policies and procedures and ensure bakery associates do the same.
- Assist the Bakery Manager in maintaining corporate inventory levels in freezers, coolers, back rooms, supplies, and Deco Pac.
- Develop proficiency in Bakery Department financial processes, including paperwork, weekly shrink, transfer sales, and budgets.
- Control shrink by following related policies and procedures.
