About The Position

The School of Dentistry at Oregon Health & Science University (OHSU) is seeking an Assistant/Associate Professor in Restorative Dentistry. The school is dedicated to providing educational programs, conducting research, and delivering high-quality patient care and community programs in a respectful environment that encourages the free exchange of ideas. The dental school is currently in a dynamic growth phase with a state-of-the-art facility, preparing graduates in general dentistry and dental specialties to provide compassionate and ethical oro-facial health care.

Requirements

  • Dental degree (DDS/DMD) from a CODA accredited school, or advanced training in a specialty program at a CODA accredited school.
  • ADA accredited advanced training program in Prosthodontics.
  • Oregon Dental License, Unrestricted (or eligibility to obtain prior to employment).
  • BLS from AHA required. New hires will be enrolled in an OHSU training course and will be required to complete the course during the onboarding process.

Nice To Haves

  • Membership and participation in professional societies in dental research.
  • Demonstrated achievement in research including awards, extra-mural funding, and publications in peer reviewed journals.
  • Must be able to teach at the pre and post graduate levels.
  • Extensive experience in digital dentistry, with focus on implants and removable prosthodontics.

Responsibilities

  • Serving as an instructor in the preclinical laboratory, reviewing student work and providing critical assessment and aid in performing normal dental procedures.
  • Serving as a course director and giving lectures.
  • Attending lectures of fellow faculty members for courses in which the person is assigned.
  • Teaching in the predoctoral dental clinic and supervising students providing patient care.
  • Performing scholarly activities such as research (including laboratory and/or clinical studies).
  • Participating on committees within the school and university as assigned.
  • Providing patient care.
