About The Position

The University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences (UAMS) has a unique combination of education, research, and clinical programs that encourages and supports teamwork and diversity. The faculty level position is a 12-month position within Pharmaceutical Sciences on the UAMS main campus in Little Rock. Non-modified faculty member appointments participate in the three mission areas of teaching, service, and research and are expected to be good academic citizens. The faculty member will develop an independent research program in an area of biomedical or pharmaceutical sciences that is in line with or complements current research laboratories in the department and UAMS. While the primary focus of this position is research and scholarship, commitment to education activities and service to the College, University, and profession are also expected. The successful candidate will provide functions in teaching, research/scholarly activities, professional development, academic citizenship, and administrative academic service. Candidates with research programs in the area of cancer, therapeutics, neuroscience, cardiovascular, radiation biology, and pharmacology are encouraged to apply. Other research and/or institutional opportunities may be available depending on the candidate's experience and interests. The faculty appointment will be in the Department of the College of Pharmacy. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Requirements

  • PhD, PharmD, or terminal degree in an appropriate field required.
  • Proof of legal authority to work in the United States on the first day of employment.
