About The Position

University of Illinois College of Medicine Peoria is seeking a BC/BE pediatric pulmonologist to join their growing service. This position offers flexibility in practice customization, a weekend-only call rotation, and a competitive benefits package. The role involves teaching medical students and residents, engaging in scholarly activities, and providing clinical services for both outpatient and inpatient settings at OSF Healthcare Children’s Hospital of Illinois. The pulmonary program is comprehensive, including a home ventilator program, an accredited CF center, a sleep medicine program, various clinics, and diagnostic services like bronchoscopy and PFTs.

Requirements

  • MD Degree or foreign equivalent
  • Eligible for Illinois Physician License
  • Board certified or board eligible in Pediatrics and Pediatric Pulmonology
  • 3 years of Pedatrics Residency and 3 years of Pediatric Pulmonology Fellowship

Nice To Haves

  • Pediatric Sleep Medicine is preferred but not required
  • Clinical teaching experience

Responsibilities

  • To be an active part of our existing pulmonary team.
  • Professional components include clinical, educational and scholar activities.
  • Provide care, diagnostic and treatment services to children with pulmonary conditions.
  • To contribute to the educational programs and activities for medical students and residents in relation to pediatric pulmonology.
  • Maintain a spirit of inquiry and scholarship in the activities of the pulmonology service.
  • Rotate WEEKEND pediatric pulmonary calls with other APNs and physicians.
  • Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned.
