About The Position

The UNT System College of Pharmacy and Health Professions (CPHP) at the University of North Texas Health Science Center at Fort Worth (UNT Health) invites applications for an Assistant or Associate Professor (open rank) with clinical expertise in internal medicine in the Department of Pharmacotherapy. The Doctor of Pharmacy program was established in 2013, graduated its first class in 2017, and received an eight-year reaccreditation from the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) in 2023. UNT Health is one of the fastest-growing academic health centers in Texas, enrolling more than 2,400 graduate students across its health professions programs. Requirements

Graduated with a PharmD from an ACPE accredited pharmacy program with a pharmacy degree.
Eligible to practice pharmacy in Texas.
Completed an ASHP accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice residency training program or possess a minimum of five years of acute care clinical patient related experience.
Employees in this job may be responsible for conducting research on, working on, or having the ability to access critical organizational infrastructure and they must be able to maintain the security and integrity of the infrastructure related to this role.
Knowledge of pharmacy practice, pharmacotherapy, and internal medicine.
Strong clinical reasoning and ability to apply evidence-based principles to complex patient-care situations.
Knowledge and skill in pharmacy education, including teaching, curriculum development, student assessment, and mentorship.
Knowledge and ability to engage in research and scholarly activity.
Strong communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills within academic and interprofessional healthcare environments.
Ability to adapt and contribute effectively across teaching, clinical practice, scholarship, and service responsibilities.
PharmD from an ACPE- accredited pharmacy program with a pharmacy degree.
Eligible to practice pharmacy in Texas.

Nice To Haves

Completed a post-graduate year two (PGY2) program in an acute care specialty such as internal medicine or pharmacotherapy, similar fellowship training, or have five years of academic/clinical experience.

Responsibilities

Contribute to the Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) program through teaching, clinical practice, scholarship, and service.
Instruction across the pharmacotherapy and pharmacy practice curriculum.
Participation in curriculum development and assessment.
Mentorship of PharmD students.
Maintain an internal medicine clinical practice that supports interprofessional patient care and experiential education.
Develop and maintain scholarly activity consistent with their expertise and academic appointment.
Contribute service to the Department, College, University, profession, and community.
Collaborate with faculty and healthcare professionals to advance pharmacy education, clinical practice, and the mission of UNT Health.
Deliver the PharmD curriculum for Professional Years 1 to 4 (PY1, PY2, PY3, PY4) as it relates to the pharmacy practice components of professional pharmacy education.
Contribute to a culture of scholarly excellence within the Department through research that ensures that the faculty member remains at the forefront of their chosen areas of research and scholarly activity relevant to the future of pharmacy.
Contribute to a culture of assessment within the Department and College that works in close cooperation with faculty of other Schools/Colleges at UNT Health to provide interprofessional education that meets the needs of all populations of Texas for effective partnerships in health and therapy.
Contribute to service efforts that enhance the quality of pharmacy education and research in Texas and nationwide.
