About The Position

The University of Arkansas School of Law is seeking applicants for a 9-month, 100% appointed, tenure/tenure track Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor to teach the Criminal Practice Clinic starting in the 2027-2028 academic year. The selected candidate will be responsible for directing and teaching the clinic each semester, supervising student law practice, teaching the clinic seminar, managing the clinic's docket, and providing regular feedback to students through weekly supervision meetings. Collaboration with other faculty and clinic staff on administrative matters is also expected. In addition to teaching, faculty in the clinical program are expected to engage fully in scholarship and service at the law school. This is an in-person position requiring regular on-campus presence for instruction and student learning, as well as participation in departmental activities. Requirements

• J.D. degree from an ABA accredited law school.
• Demonstrated commitment to excellence in teaching and mentoring students.
• Excellent record of scholarship or, at the entry level, a strong potential for scholarship.
• Demonstrated commitment to service within and outside the University.
• A law license.
• Two years of legal experience.
• Eligible for admission to the Arkansas bar.
• Experience teaching, mentoring or supervising law students, legal interns, or attorneys.

Nice To Haves

• Tenure-track teaching experience.
• Experience as a visiting law professor or fellow.
• One or more years of other clinical teaching experience.
• Three or more years of practical legal experience.

Responsibilities

• Direct and teach the Criminal Practice Clinic each semester.
• Supervise student law practice.
