About The Position

This position is for an Assistant/Associate Clinical Professor with a focus on Nursing. The role requires a strong background in nursing practice and a commitment to teaching students from diverse backgrounds. The professor will be responsible for instruction in an academic setting, potentially utilizing innovative teaching modalities and curriculum development.

Requirements

  • MSN in Nursing or related field.
  • A current, active and unencumbered California RN License.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of work experience as a nurse in content specialty area within the last five (5) years.
  • Eligible for approval as a BRN approved faculty by the California Board of Registered Nursing.

Nice To Haves

  • A terminal degree in Nursing (PhD or DNP, or EdD) with a master’s degree in nursing or a related field.
  • ABD candidates are encouraged to apply with the premise they will finish their dissertation within two (2) years of appointment.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of instructional experience teaching in an academic setting.
  • Knowledge and skills related to teaching adults/older adults, teaching methodology, curriculum development, evaluations, or willingness to plan for acquisition of these skills not later than the first year of teaching.
  • BRN approval as a content expert.
  • Experience in using Canvas or other LMS.
  • Expertise in simulation or other innovative teaching modalities.
  • Computer literacy.
  • Possess the health qualifications to teach students in the clinical setting.
  • Demonstrated commitment to teaching students from diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
  • Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
  • Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
  • Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
