The City of Farmington is seeking an Assistant Aquatics Manager to perform a variety of administrative duties in the planning, development, and implementation of instructional, recreation, and fitness classes, as well as other aquatics programs, sports, and special events. This role works under the general supervision of the Aquatics Manager and is responsible for establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with employees, officials, and the public. The Assistant Aquatics Manager will supervise and motivate shift supervisors, lifeguards, instructors, and coaching staff, and serve as a liaison between the City and programs utilizing the facility. Key responsibilities include organizing and implementing American Red Cross swimming lessons and other programs, scheduling aquatics activities, conducting training for lifeguards and Water Safety Instructors, and independently planning and supervising aquatics facility usage. The position also involves coordinating staff, preparing lesson plans, managing program records and statistics, inventorying equipment, and communicating needs to the Aquatics Manager. Additionally, the role assists with pool maintenance, prepares communications materials, organizes support groups, and operates a motor vehicle for departmental business. This position is subject to the City of Farmington's Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program and requires participation in the City's Environmental, Health, and Safety program.
