About The Position

The Asset Tracking Technician is an on-site role responsible for keeping the RTLS hardware infrastructure online, reporting unresolved discrepancies to the off-site support team, and helping maintain the accuracy and integrity of the Encompass system in the Atlanta, Georgia area. The role also provides end-user training and manages Encompass infrastructure across regional sites.

Requirements

Associate’s degree; or participation in the formal GEHC Biomed/FE Services Internship or Military Externship program; or a high school diploma/GED and at least 2 years of experience in a hospital setting.
Demonstrated understanding of medical equipment movement within a clinical care setting.
Ability to obtain unrestricted Hospital Vendor Credentialing.
Proven customer interaction skills and customer focus.
Demonstrated understanding of Wi-Fi fundamentals.
Ability to work independently.
Ability to communicate clearly and interface with Biomedical Technicians, customers, and internal GE stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

Support experience with real-time locating systems (RTLS).
Experience working in a hospital environment.
Familiarity with hospital departments, medical equipment, and its uses.
Understanding of standard hospital policies and processes.

Responsibilities

Manage the RTLS Encompass infrastructure at all sites included in the region.
Monitor Encompass hardware performance to ensure the system is functioning as intended.
Remediate offline devices and replace them as needed.
Gather move-add-change requirements and install items as requested.
Order and configure new hardware as needed.
Supervise third-party vendor Encompass-related activities.
Report Encompass site health metrics to internal client representatives.
Lead projects from inception to completion using standard project management skills.
Assist with equipment tagging efforts as needed.
Provide ongoing Encompass training to end users.
Communicate new functionality to end users.
Assist with standardization of label nomenclature and coverage issues.
Escalate issues to the Support team.
Perform basic QGIS tracing of floorplans.
