About The Position

A Bloomingdale’s Asset Protection Visual Security Officer provides a visible, welcoming presence at the customer entrance to help deter theft and support the customer shopping experience. The role helps maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues by greeting and assisting customers, visually monitoring store traffic, observing for theft, and communicating suspicious activity to Asset Protection or Security. Officers are expected to perform their duties professionally. Bloomingdale’s provides an Asset Protection training program to help colleagues develop the knowledge and tools for the role and grow in responsibility.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourcefulness and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers while on the selling floor.
• Visually monitor customer traffic entering and exiting the store.
• Deter theft through visual observation.
• Help maintain a safe business environment.
• Communicate suspicious activity to Asset Protection or Security.
