About The Position

A Bloomingdale’s Asset Protection Visual Security Officer provides a visible, welcoming presence at the customer entrance to help deter theft while supporting the customer shopping experience. The officer helps provide a safe environment for customers and colleagues by greeting and engaging customers, offering assistance, observing store traffic, and communicating suspicious activity to Asset Protection/Security. Bloomingdale’s provides an Asset Protection training program to equip officers with the knowledge and tools needed to perform the job and grow in responsibility. Officers are expected to maintain a high degree of professionalism in their duties.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills and the proven ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourcefulness and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers while on the selling floor.
• Visually monitor customer traffic entering and exiting the store.
• Deter theft through visual observation.
• Help maintain a safe business environment.
• Communicate suspicious activity to Asset Protection/Security.
