About The Position

A Bloomingdale’s Asset Protection Visual Security Officer provides a visible, welcoming presence at the customer entrance to help deter theft while supporting the customer shopping experience and maintaining a safe environment for customers and colleagues. The officer greets and engages customers, offers assistance, and communicates suspicious activity to Asset Protection/Security. Bloomingdale’s provides an Asset Protection training program to equip officers with the knowledge and tools to perform the role and grow in responsibility. Officers are expected to maintain a high degree of professionalism while carrying out their duties in the store.

Requirements

• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourceful and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• A resourceful self-starter who works well independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule with retail hours, including day, evening, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
• May occasionally need to reach above eye level, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Frequently lift or move up to 30 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers while on the selling floor.
• Visually monitor customer traffic entering and exiting the store.
• Deter theft through visual observation.
• Maintain a safe business environment.
• Communicate suspicious activity to Asset Protection/Security.
