About The Position

Loblaw Companies Limited is seeking an Asset Protection Representative to join one of Canada’s most prominent Asset Protection teams. This front-line career in retail security focuses on safeguarding the business, employees, and customers by preventing theft, fraud, and policy violations. The role involves maintaining a visible presence, safely detaining offenders, conducting investigations, collaborating with law enforcement, and partnering with store leadership to reduce loss. The position operates in a dynamic, fast-paced environment within high-volume grocery and pharmacy settings, requiring vigilance, professionalism, and quick decision-making to create a safe shopping environment.

Requirements

  • Valid Provincial Security Guard License
  • Understanding of the Criminal Code of Canada, Trespass to Property Act, and related legislation.
  • Experience with CCTV, surveillance tools, and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  • Approachable, confident, and respectful with exceptional communication skills.
  • A high level of trustworthiness, accountability, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in grocery, pharmacy, or other high-volume retail environments.

Responsibilities

  • Actively prevent theft, fraud, and policy violations by maintaining a visible and professional presence in-store.
  • Safely and lawfully detain offenders, following all company and legal procedures.
  • Conduct detailed internal and external investigations, gather and analyze evidence, and work closely with law enforcement when required.
  • Partner with store leadership to identify loss trends and implement effective prevention strategies.
  • Ensure compliance with company standards, security policies, and provincial regulations.
