About The Position

As a Bloomingdale’s Asset Protection Practitioner, you are responsible for protecting the assets and people of your location. The Asset Protection training program provides the knowledge and tools needed for the job as you grow in responsibility. You will use technology, analytics, and investigative skills while maintaining a high degree of professionalism in carrying out your duties within the store.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 to 3 years of experience in asset protection or loss prevention.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to identify and communicate site-specific ideas and programs.
• Ability to work with all levels of management.
• Strong presentation and interpersonal skills, and good follow-up skills.
• Working knowledge of physical security aspects, including alarms, EAS, CCTV, and locks and keys.
• Ability to make sound business decisions, make recommendations, and implement necessary changes.
• Highly organized and able to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule based on department and company needs.

Responsibilities

• Help facilitate and communicate the overall asset protection effort and shortage reduction within the store.
• Ensure store compliance with asset protection plans and shortage programs.
• Develop open communication with asset protection and store colleagues, central teams, and corporate executives, and build positive business relationships.
• Facilitate training for store colleagues and leadership on shortage and theft mitigation, operational and procedural compliance, using in-store execution, meetings, Next Gen, and other communication methods.
• Use reporting and data to facilitate shortage control programs and theft mitigation efforts.
• Drive execution and compliance with policies and processes to protect stores, colleagues, customers, and property.
• Network with other retailers, local law enforcement, mall management, and legal counsel.
• Provide a safe environment for customers and colleagues and ensure compliance with the safety program.
• Drive improvements in store safety, shortage, and audit compliance metrics.
