About The Position

The Asset Protection Visual Security Officer provides a visible, welcoming presence at the customer entrance to help deter theft while supporting a positive shopping experience. The role helps maintain a safe environment for customers and colleagues by greeting and assisting customers, monitoring store traffic, observing for potential theft, and communicating suspicious activity to Asset Protection or Security. Bloomingdale’s provides an Asset Protection training program to help colleagues develop the knowledge and tools for the role and grow in responsibility. The position requires a high degree of professionalism.

Requirements

• No education or experience is required.
• Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate and share information with diverse groups of customers and peers.
• Resourcefulness and ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
• Ability to work a flexible retail schedule, including days, evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
• Ability to stand or walk for prolonged periods.
• Ability to occasionally reach above eye level, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
• Ability to frequently lift or move up to 30 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet and welcome customers while on the selling floor.

• Deter theft through visual observation.
