As an Asset Protection Officer, you are a visible and welcoming presence who helps create a safe, secure, and service-focused shopping environment. Stationed at key entrances and high-shortage areas, you help deter theft, identify potential risk, support customer and colleague safety, and partner with store teams to deliver a positive experience for everyone who enters the store. This entry-level role is more than traditional security — it is presence with purpose. Asset Protection Officers greet customers, help deter theft, support team safety, and respond calmly during incidents, helping customers and colleagues feel comfortable, confident, and cared for while protecting the business. The role involves serving as a reassuring presence in entrances, high-traffic areas, and high-shortage locations; partnering with store teams and Asset Protection leaders; responding to incidents and medical situations; using technology and two-way communication devices; documenting incidents; conducting operational audits; assisting with apprehensions under the direction of Asset Protection leaders, Captains, or Detectives; and following company policies and legal standards. The position also supports basic first aid and may require testimony in criminal or civil legal proceedings. The job requires flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, along with dependable attendance and punctuality. Physical activities include prolonged standing and walking, occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, the ability to apprehend shoplifters, extended periods in enclosed surveillance areas, and frequently lifting or moving up to 30 pounds. For jobs in New York, a current New York State Security Guard License is required.
