The Asset Protection Officer is an entry-level role that helps create a safe, secure, and service-focused shopping environment. The officer maintains a visible and welcoming presence at store entrances, high-traffic areas, and high-shortage locations to deter theft, identify potential risks, and support customer and colleague safety. The role partners with store teams and Asset Protection leaders to protect company assets and provide a positive experience for people in the store. Officers respond calmly and professionally to incidents, medical situations, and other store needs; use technology and two-way communication devices; document incidents; conduct operational audits; and assist with apprehensions under the direction of Asset Protection leaders, captains, or detectives. The role also requires following company policies and legal standards for apprehensions, searches, evidence handling, and confidential information, and providing testimony in legal proceedings when needed. The position requires flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. It involves prolonged standing and walking, occasional reaching, stooping, kneeling, or crouching, the ability to apprehend shoplifters, extended periods in enclosed surveillance areas, and frequently lifting or moving up to 30 pounds. For jobs in New York, a current New York State Security Guard License is required.
