The Asset Protection Officer is a visible, welcoming presence who helps create a safe, secure, and service-focused shopping environment. Stationed at store entrances, high-traffic areas, and high-shortage locations, the officer helps deter theft, identify potential risks, support customer and colleague safety, and partner with store teams to provide a positive experience. The role is entry-level and combines customer service with asset protection responsibilities. The officer greets customers, monitors key areas, supports shortage reduction, and responds calmly and professionally to incidents, medical situations, and other store needs. They use technology and two-way communication devices to stay connected, document incidents and audits, conduct assigned operational audits, and assist with apprehensions under the direction of Asset Protection leaders, captains, or detectives. The position requires compliance with company policies and legal standards concerning apprehensions, searches, evidence, and confidential information, and may require testimony in legal proceedings. This is a part-time position at the Fair Oaks location. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week. Schedules include weekend shifts, and hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. Availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
