About The Position

The Asset Management Specialist (AMS) is a site based position that plays a key role in ensuring that Takeda assets are accurately uploaded and maintained in Takeda and Renovo databases in a manner that ensures the effectiveness of the asset management program. Additionally, the AMS routinely interfaces with Takeda end users, GREF, Lab Ops and Renovo stakeholders on asset maintenance requirements, move projects, and the disposition of assets as needed.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Life Science, with at least 2 years of experience with instrument management
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products, PowerBI, SAP and Smartsheet software
  • Strong customer focus with a customer first mindset

  • Must follow OSHA guidelines in regard to blood borne pathogens, airborne pathogens, radiation, sharp instruments and/or tools, hazardous liquids, and operating devices
  • Ontime completion of safety trainings assignments

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical tagging of new and existing laboratory equipment and input asset data into Takeda and Renovo databases.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for lab assets, including in-service dates, descriptions, asset numbers, and cost information in Tango and Lab Operations asset management systems.
  • Conduct semiannual cycle counts to validate the effectiveness and accuracy of the asset management program.
  • Collaborate with Space Planning and operations teams to prepare equipment for weekly relocations, ensuring readiness and protocol compliance.
  • Coordinate with capital project teams to ensure all new equipment is appropriately documented, tagged, and tracked throughout its lifecycle.
  • Use the Facilities Lab Procurement Tool to identify and register new lab equipment purchases requiring inventory tracking.
  • Partner with Laboratory Operations to classify and prepare assets for disposal, consignment, or donation.
  • Support logistics and coordination for asset transfers to external partners, including Surplus Solutions (consignment) and Seeding Labs (donation).
  • Maintain ongoing communication with Renovo Account Managers, Takeda Lab Operations, and GREF Sponsors to ensure uninterrupted equipment coverage and service alignment.
  • Monitor incoming equipment to warehouse storage and maintain accurate inventory records.
  • Build foundational knowledge of Takeda’s lab instrumentation portfolio, service models, and operational workflows within a biopharmaceutical research environment.
