About The Position

The Assessment Specialist at Columbus Springs Dublin responds to requests for behavioral health services by conducting initial evaluations and assessments, determining appropriate levels of care, facilitating admissions, and providing follow-up. The role documents patients’ symptoms, functioning, and needs and provides information to a physician for level-of-care determination. It also requires courteous customer service to patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers, along with knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA. The position is full-time on a day shift from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Requirements

Associate’s degree in nursing or master’s degree in social work or counseling.
Current clinical, social work, or RN license in the state of Ohio.
Strong clinical assessment skills.
CPR and CPI certification within 30 days.

Nice To Haves

Prior experience in a psychiatric healthcare facility working with adult and geriatric patients.

Responsibilities

Facilitate responses to requests for services, including initial response, assessment and referral, appropriate level-of-care designation, admission into services, and follow-up.
Conduct initial evaluations and initiate assessments.
Document patient symptomology, functioning, and needs, and provide information to a physician for level-of-care determination.
Assist patients, physicians, visitors, and coworkers promptly and courteously.
Apply knowledge of Emergency Detention paperwork and processes and EMTALA.
Perform other duties as assigned.
