About The Position

Repairs and maintains machinery and equipment such as motors, conveyor systems, and production machines and equipment. This role involves a variety of tasks including cleaning equipment, rebuilding components like escapements and air cylinders, locating and repairing pneumatic leaks and electrical faults, adjusting various machine parts, replacing motors and belts, troubleshooting electric motors, and performing general maintenance. The technician will also be involved in upgrading assembly equipment for scrap reduction and quality improvements, and developing cost-saving ideas.

Requirements

One to three months related experience and/or training.
Must pass skills assessment.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Ability to handle problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
Regularly required to stand, walk, talk and hear.
Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; and sit, bend, stoop, twist, kneel, squat, or crawl.
Occasionally required to sit and taste or smell.
Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.
Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Responsibilities

Clean photoelectric equipment with contact cleaner.
Remove and rebuild escapements by disassembling and replacing worn parts.
Dismantle air cylinders and rebuild by replacing worn parts.
Locate and repair pneumatics leaks.
Locate and repair electrical faults with a multimeter.
Adjust feeding tracks and escapement by adding or removing shims.
Adjust tube cut by turning adjustment wheel.
Adjust tube bin by increasing or decreasing the width.
Replace motors, motor control and clutches.
Trouble-shoot and repair electric motors.
Replace conveyor belts by removing and disassembling conveyors.
Adjusting Syntron feeder speed by increasing or decreasing power percentage.
Adjusting air cylinder's speed by adjusting flow controls.
Clean parts bowls by removing parts and wash with cleaning fluid.
Replace cut-off blade by disassembling cutter escapement.
Remove parts jam by pulling bad parts out with required tool.
Clean parts using solvents.
Trouble-shoot with programmer using keyboard.
Rebuild assembly equipment to upgrade for scrap reduction, quality improvements, etc.
Develop cost savings ideas and implement same.
Observe equipment in operation and evaluate potential problems for future repairs.
Dismantle equipment to gain access to and remove defective parts.
Adjust function parts of equipment and control instruments.
Repair or replace defective parts.
Install special functional and structural parts in equipment.
Lubricate and clean parts.
Start equipment to test their performance.
Set up and operate lathe, drill press, grinder, and other metalworking tools to repair or make spare parts.
Repair electrical equipment.
Follow all work rules and policies.
