About The Position

The Assembler position involves putting together parts using verbal instructions, blueprints, or sample parts. The role requires the use of various tools such as riveting devices, hand tools, air guns, and power tools. Responsibilities include ensuring the quality and accuracy of assembled parts through basic inspection using tools like micrometers, verniers, scales, squares, and gauges. The assembler may also be involved in assembling prototypes with engineering support and inspecting parts for cosmetic specifications. Certification in riveting may be required, and the ability to work at all stations and processes on the assembly line is necessary. Completion of a basic blueprint reading class is also a requirement.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or one to three months related experience and/or training is preferred.
  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
  • Ability to write simple correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with other employees.
  • Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving a few concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Ability to train and work with others (team concept).

Responsibilities

  • Assembles parts with the aid of verbal instructions, print(s) or sample parts.
  • Uses various types of riveting devices, hand tools, air guns and power devices to assemble parts.
  • Checks parts for quality and accuracy using basic inspection devices such as micrometers, verniers, scales, squares and gages.
  • Assembles prototypes with Engineering help.
  • Inspects parts for various types of cosmetic specifications.
  • Achieve certification in riveting where required.
  • Must be qualified to assemble at every station and process on the assembly line.
  • Successfully complete basic blueprint reading class.
