About The Position

Responsible for assembly and packing of sheet metal components of small or medium sized parts. This role involves fitting and/or adjustment of inter-related parts and/or assembly based on written specifications. The position requires adherence to all safety processes and procedures, following specific written instructions and/or blueprints to assemble components into finished products, and disassembling and rebuilding products per specifications. The role also includes conducting quality checks, packing and labeling products, ensuring a clean and safe work area, and assisting with other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • 2-4 years related experience or training or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to use hand tools such as screw drivers, sockets, Allen wrench, air drivers, tape dispenser and material handling equipment such as tow motor.
  • Ability to read and understand blueprints, quality and packing instructions.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or Associates of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Regularly required to sit; walk, stand for extensive periods of time, maneuver through the office and factory; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; grasp and twist; talk or hear; and lift and/or or move equipment/product weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • Utilize lift assist or work with another associate to lift anything greater than 50Ilbs.
  • Must pass physical abilities test because of weight of assemblies being worked on.

Nice To Haves

  • Additional mechanical training and/or blueprint reading a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Follows all safety processes and procedures in accordance with job and Company requirements.
  • Following specific written instructions and/or blueprints, assembles components into finished product.
  • Disassembles and re-builds products per specifications.
  • Conducts quality checks following quality process instructions.
  • Pack and labels product following packaging instructions.
  • Ensures that the work area is clean, orderly, and safe.
  • Work in packaging as needed, including packing large assemblies or parts.
  • Inspect parts for defects or damage prior to packing.
  • Make boxes, apply labels, verify counts, and follow packing instructions.
  • Follow directions on packing from Packaging Lead.
  • Assists with other duties as assigned by supervisor/manager.
