About The Position

Provide voice-to-sign and sign-to-voice interpreting and other support services for deaf and hard-of-hearing students and staff in a variety of settings. The role facilitates communication among students, faculty, staff, parents, and others. Confer with students, teachers, and administrators about instructional functions, interpretation services, educational progress, and related issues, needs, and activities.

Requirements

• High school graduation.
• Certification from the National Registry of Interpreters for the Deaf, Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment, Educational Sign Skills Evaluation-Interpreter and Receptive, National Association of the Deaf, American Consortium of Certified Interpreters, or equivalent, with a score of 4.0 or above.
• Valid California Class C Driver’s License.
• Any combination of training, education, and experience that demonstrates the required knowledge and abilities and the ability to perform the duties.
