About The Position

Seeking a reliable, professional Armed Gatehouse & Patrol Security Officer to support safety and security operations in an upscale country club community in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida. The role includes access control, foot and vehicle patrols, surveillance, use of gatehouse technology, detailed reporting, emergency response, and prevention of criminal activity while maintaining a courteous, professional demeanor with residents and guests.

The position is full-time, with 32–40 hours available. Candidates must be available for second shift (1500–2300) and/or third shift (2300–0700).

Requirements

• Valid Florida Class D and G security licenses.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background screening and drug test.
• Ability to pass a mental health assessment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills in English, including the ability to draft reports.
• Active listening skills.
• Ability to assess and evaluate situations and identify critical issues quickly and accurately.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure and exercise good judgment and situational awareness.
• Professional appearance, demeanor, and attitude.
• Must be a U.S. citizen or a foreign citizen authorized to legally work in the United States.
• Must be able to complete all training required for the position.
• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and move between posts during an 8-hour shift or as operationally required.
• Ability to walk on pavement, grass, and uneven terrain, and to respond to emergencies by running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
• Visual acuity to monitor CCTV and surroundings, and hearing sufficient to respond to alarms and communicate by two-way radio or telephone.
• Ability to reach frequently and occasionally squat, kneel, or stoop.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain mental alertness and attention to detail during extended observation.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
• Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
• Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
• Experience with Avigilon camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed interior and exterior foot and/or vehicle patrols to identify unusual conditions, security concerns, and safety hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain site awareness.
• Immediately sound alarms or contact police or fire departments in the event of a fire, medical emergency, or unauthorized person.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
• Verify guest and vendor credentials, authorize entry for permitted individuals, and monitor entrances and exits.
• Warn violators of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Maintain daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
• Provide courteous, professional customer service to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
• Serve as a visible deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe environment.
