About The Position

The Armed Security Officer supports safety and security operations within an upscale country club community in Boca Raton, Florida. The role includes access control, foot and vehicle patrols, surveillance, gatehouse technology, protection of people and equipment, incident reporting, emergency response, and prevention of criminal activity. Officers are expected to maintain a courteous, polished, and professional demeanor while providing high-level customer service to residents, members, employees, guests, and visitors.

The position is full-time, with 32–40 hours and availability needed for either or both of the first shift (0700–1500) and second shift (1500–2300). The stated pay rate is $19.00–$20.83 per hour. Assignments take place indoors and outdoors, with exposure to varied and sometimes extreme weather conditions and occasional high-stress situations.

Requirements

• Valid Florida Class D and G security licenses.
• Valid driver's license.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 21 years of age.
• Ability to pass a background screening, drug test, and mental health assessment.
• Reliable transportation.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to exchange information, give instructions, and write reports in English.

• Ability to work indoors and outdoors in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
• Ability to stand, walk, or sit for extended periods and move between posts for an 8-hour shift or as operationally required.
• Ability to walk on pavement, grass, and uneven terrain; react quickly in emergencies, potentially including running, climbing stairs, or navigating obstacles.
• Visual acuity to monitor CCTV and observe surroundings, and auditory ability to respond to alarms and communicate by two-way radio or telephone.
• Ability to reach frequently and occasionally squat, kneel, or stoop to inspect vehicles or property.
• Ability to occasionally lift, carry, push, or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to maintain mental alertness and attention to detail during extended observation.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a gated country club environment performing patrol, gatehouse, and security dispatch duties.
• Experience with alarm systems and responding to alarm activations.
• Experience with the ABDI gate access system.
• Experience with Avigilon camera systems.

Responsibilities

• Conduct armed interior and exterior foot and/or vehicle patrols to identify unusual conditions, security concerns, or safety hazards.
• Monitor CCTV and alarm systems to maintain awareness of the site.
• Immediately sound alarms or contact police or fire departments in the event of a fire, medical emergency, or unauthorized person.
• Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbances on the property.
• Verify guest and vendor credentials, monitor entrances and exits, and permit authorized people to enter.
• Warn people of rule infractions and enforce property rules and post orders.
• Investigate and prepare detailed reports on accidents, incidents, and suspicious activities.
• Maintain comprehensive daily activity logs documenting shift events for management.
• Provide courteous, professional assistance to residents, members, employees, and visitors.
• Serve as a visible deterrent to crime and help maintain a safe and secure environment.
