About The Position

Allied Universal Services is hiring an Armed Security Shift Supervisor for a location in Poway. The supervisor coordinates and oversees delivery of quality security services during an assigned shift and serves as a liaison among the site supervisor, Account Manager or Field Operations Manager, and professional security officers. The role supervises officers on the assigned shift and provides coaching, recognition, and discipline within the approved empowerment range.

The supervisor communicates shift staffing needs, ensures officers receive appropriate technical and professional training, and helps address employee grievances with support from HR and management. The role also administers job safety analyses and site-specific safety programs, and assists management with inventory and maintenance of uniforms, equipment, supplies, and vehicles.

A valid exposed firearm permit and active California guard card are required. The position pays $29 per hour. Applicants must meet the stated age and education criteria, complete a background investigation and drug screen, and be able to meet the role’s communication, customer-service, computer, crisis-response, and physical requirements.

Requirements

• At least 21 years of age.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid exposed firearm permit.
• Active California guard card.
• Effective written and oral communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to interact professionally with all levels of personnel and the general public.
• Exceptional customer service and communication skills.
• Intermediate computer skills to operate innovative wireless technology at client-specific sites.
• Ability to handle client-site crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
• Successful completion of a background investigation and drug screen in accordance with applicable laws.
• Ability to work in cold weather, rain or snow, and heat.
• Ability to occasionally lift or carry up to 40 pounds.
• Ability to occasionally climb stairs, ramps, or ladders during a shift.
• Ability to stand or walk on various surfaces for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Supervise staff on the assigned shift, including providing coaching, recognition, and discipline within the approved empowerment range.
• Coordinate the delivery of quality services at the assigned customer site.
• Act as a liaison between the site supervisor, Account Manager or Field Operations Manager, and professional security officers.
• Communicate staffing needs on the shift to the Account Manager or Operations Manager.
• Ensure officers receive appropriate training and develop their technical and professional skills.
• Ensure employee grievances are heard with assistance from appropriate HR support and the Account or Operations Manager.
• Administer job safety analyses and safety programs covering site-specific hazards, including vehicle and driving safety as appropriate to company procedures.
• Assist the Account or Operations Manager with uniforms, equipment, supplies, and vehicles, including maintaining inventories and maintenance checklists.
• Handle client-site crisis situations calmly and efficiently.
