About The Position

PGS USA is hiring an Armed Security Officer to help protect personnel, visitors, and property at one of its facilities in Lake Mary, Florida. The officer will maintain a visible, professional presence; respond to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms; and use customer service and communication skills to de-escalate tense situations. The role requires compliance with Florida regulations and current armed security licensure. The specified schedule is Thursday through Saturday, 12 a.m.–8 a.m., and Sunday, 4 p.m.–12 a.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Valid Florida Class D and Class G security licenses.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in high-stress environments while demonstrating professionalism and sound judgment.
• Must pass a background check and drug screening.
• Availability to work Thursday through Saturday, 12 a.m.–8 a.m., and Sunday, 4 p.m.–12 a.m.
• Ability to sit, stand, and walk for extended periods.
• Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 25 pounds.
• Ability to function independently and remain calm in high-pressure or intense situations.

Nice To Haves

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Maintain a visible and professional presence to deter illegal activities and ensure the safety of personnel, visitors, and property.
• Respond promptly and appropriately to security incidents, emergencies, and alarms.
• Use customer service and communication skills to de-escalate tense or potentially violent situations.
• Collaborate with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Document and report incidents, activities, and observations using company-approved forms and protocols.
• Inspect the premises for security risks, hazards, or violations and report findings to appropriate personnel.
• Comply with state regulations, including maintaining current armed security licensure in Florida.
