About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring a full-time Armed Security Officer in Richmond, Virginia, to support a public transportation location. The officer will safeguard clients by conducting routine patrols, maintaining a visible presence to help deter incidents, and responding professionally to security-related concerns. This is a driving role that requires a valid driver’s license and involves customer service, clear communication, and site-specific security procedures. Applicants must be at least 21 years old, have at least one year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience, and possess an armed guard card or license and a high school diploma or equivalent. Employment is conditional on applicable background investigation and drug screening. Industry-specific security training is required. The stated schedule is Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday from 3:30 PM to 1:00 AM. Pay is $21.63 per hour.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of armed security-related, law enforcement, or military experience.
• An armed guard card or license.
• A valid driver’s license, in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
• At least 21 years of age for armed roles.
• A high school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of applicable background investigation and drug screening as conditions of employment.
• Meet any applicable state or local licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• CPR and First Aid certification.
• Experience with handcuffs, pepper spray, and baton.

Responsibilities

• Provide customer service by carrying out security-related procedures and site-specific policies.
• Carry out emergency response activities when appropriate.
• Respond to incidents and critical situations calmly and with a problem-solving approach.
• Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and its perimeter.
• Maintain a visible security presence and respond to security-related concerns.
• Participate in industry-specific security training programs.
