About The Position

Allied Universal is hiring an Armed Security Officer to protect the safety and security of assigned facilities. Officers serve as a visible deterrent to crime and violations of client rules, and detect and report suspicious, unsafe, or criminal activity that may threaten the property, clients, guests, or employees. The role supports the company’s purpose of servicing, securing, and caring for people and businesses in the community. The stated pay rate is $31.97 per hour.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent, or five years of verifiable experience.
• At least three years of law enforcement, military, or private armed security experience.
• At least 21 years of age, or older if required by the state.
• Excellent communication skills, including the ability to articulate and write clear, concise incident or situation reports.
• Ability to complete all range qualifications and functions.
• Meet any applicable licensing requirements, which may be required before employment.

Nice To Haves

• Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Business, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality security services to safeguard personnel, property, and information.
• Conduct foot, bicycle, or vehicle patrols within and around the facility to protect people, assets, and sensitive or classified information.
• Preserve order and enforce rules, regulations, and directives for the viability of the site.
• Maintain proficiency in the use of assigned protective equipment, restraint devices, and weapons.
• Greet guests and employees, assist where appropriate, escort visitors and contractors, secure ingress and egress points, and secure classified information.
• Follow site-specific performance manuals and post orders; report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances through written and verbal communication.
• Interact with the client and/or other security personnel regarding execution of orders when appropriate.
• Respond to and assess security or emergency alarms; act as a first responder in emergencies and provide first aid as necessary.
